Rob Reynolds plays a dual C-level role at Congruex as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Rob, who has a technical background and software engineering education, has the unique ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization while applying technology systems to enhance key business functions and strategy. His ability to simplify complex concepts led to a Shared Services model at Congruex that has truly transformed the traditional CIO position. He oversees global technology, network & cybersecurity, people strategy, HR operations, HSE (Health Safety, Environmental), legal, contracts, and purchasing. This hybrid model streamlines the traditional siloed back-office model, allowing an agile data-driven approach to all business decisions.

Rob’s leadership qualities are based on people development, empowerment, and accountability. He motivates his team and gives them space to do the job they were hired to do while holding them to high-quality standards. Rob’s determination to build high-performing teams and create long-term career opportunities for his people shows in the success of those around him. He takes the time to truly understand his team, their growth goals, and their strengths. This leads to a culture of trust, respect, and a work-life balance aligned at the intersection of business needs and individual needs. Through this leadership style, Rob drives Congruex’s culture, products, and services. He understands Congruex’s success is directly tied to the collaboration, innovation, and GRIT of its people.

Rob has been fortunate enough to have several role models in his career, including his father, who came from extremely humble beginnings, educating himself while working and raising six children. He worked his way from burr filer and heat treat operator to leading the SSB at Martin Marietta, including the delivery of the Manned Maneuvering Unit (the backpack astronauts use to go outside the Space Shuttle and International Space Station). Rob grew up watching his father lead by example with hard work, delivery, and, most importantly, teamwork. Rob quickly learned that collaboration is key to anyone’s success and lives by these values today, stating his father’s best piece of advice is “surround yourself with great people and let them do their jobs... you just guide them”. He says his father is a tremendous example of being generous with his time, talent, and money within the community and was always there to help those who needed it most. Rob continues this with his volunteer work and using his company’s physical and intangible assets to help the communities in which they perform work.

Another key role model in Rob’s life is John Schanz, former Chief Network Officer of Comcast Cable and current independent board member of the Congruex Board of Directors. Rob has worked with John for many years, honing in on the critical intersection of people and technology. John has helped transform culture, talent, and technologies from historic norms. While working together, Rob was able to see how to effectively deliver best-in-class software development and infrastructure solutions, scale the world’s largest 24xForever network, and establish an industry-leading cybersecurity function, all while motivating the people behind the innovation.
