According to Frank von Seth, CEO, Cyan Digital Security is, although already over 15 years old, still a young company in respect to the current cyber threat developments. “We as a company have concluded some remarkable milestones with products, clients and markets and geographies. However, the potential this company has is tremendous and we are still in the beginning phases,” he adds. “Cyber technology, in its broader definition, amongst healthcare and climate change is one of the three largest topics in the world; in terms of opportunities but also threats. Cyan is in a transformational process to be available not only for companies such as telcos, but also for a final and direct end user.”

Cyan was incorporated with the idea to protect employees of businesses while using the Internet on their workstations. A strong focus has been made very early already in own content categorization and threat intelligence, which was considered a core competence and completely built-up in-house. Cyan has a history as being a technology provider for many enterprises and governments in Europe, such as the Austrian embassies who are using cyan to protect access to the web. “Our CTO and a founder of the company, Markus Cserna, started to develop the technology further, together with my precursor, to scale into telecom networks and provide security services for end user,” says Frank. With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, Frank took up the responsibility to safeguard the employees and their families and recognize the threat landscape. In this current situation, digital communication has become the cornerstone of activities among individuals and groups. Digital devices are an essential tool to keep up with social and business interactions. As Cyan, we are sitting in the middle of this communication flow. “Metaphorically, we are the seatbelt during the communication journey. However, it still feels like we are in the 60s, where car drivers did not pay much attention to seatbelts and manufacturers were not encouraging them,” explains Frank. “Our aim is now to educate the market and at the same time to increase our offer and reach, to use our technology and “put the seatbelt” on, for a safer journey through the net.”

We have the intention to be the guardian angel of every human being - their piece of mind. “In our case and the focus of Cyan, the trend is more a spread of activities with the aim to acquire as many innocent victims as possible,” he explains. “We are protecting our clients from threats like Phishing, Scam or Identity Theft to name some with very easy to use security solutions.” Cyan’s current services are tightly integrated within telecom networks and do not require any software installation or configuration of client devices in a typical scenario.
