As a visionary executive with 20 years of success in industry-leading organizations including EDS, CIBC and Home Capital Group, Fariba Rawhani currently serves as Chief Information Officer for Teranet. In her role, Fariba is responsible for the company’s full range of information technology functions including IT strategy, development and delivery, information security, digital transformation, automation, data governance and analytics, and cloud strategy. Teranet is an international leader and pioneer in electronic land registration systems and commerce. In Canada, Teranet is the exclusive provider of Ontario’s online property search and registration. The company developed, owns and operates the Ontario Electronic Land Registration System – one of the most advanced, secure and sophisticated land registration systems in the world.

Technologies that underpin this transformation are Docker containers and Kubernetes container orchestration platform. “We are also automating our release pipelines to shorten our release cycles so that new features and functionality are available to our customer faster. Closely tied to our DevOps initiative is automation of testing and integration of automated testing in our release pipelines. We are leveraging AI in our test automation toolset to reduce maintenance effort,” adds Fariba.

Teranet is aggressively moving towards DevOps and using best-in-class tools, as well as best-in-class security. They are taking advantage of AI and analytics, testing tools that have machine learning built into them and using robotics to transform back office processes. With DevOps, they will drive an end-to-end cultural shift— increasing automation of testing, deployments and infrastructure setup, to accelerate delivery speed and reduce per-product and per-release costs.
